OUR MISSION
to establish, in partnership with other role players, a value system in the marketplace, which is built on justice, trust, trustworthiness, honesty and fairness; to assist employers and employees to live their faith truthfully in their workplaces.
CLEARING UP MISCONCEPTION
People often think that this ministry is intended for workers (unskilled labourers) only.
The fact of the matter is that Employers and Managers are also part of the working force in the marketplace. We would therefore like to invite them to become part of our outreach.
WHAT IS INDUSTRIAL MINISTRY?
- We are a ministry of the Christian churches in the working place
- We were originally constituted in the Reformed Church family
- We are a growing ecumenical ministry
- We have an ecumenical team of spiritual workers and are managed by people from different firms and church traditions
OUR VISION
- Industrial Ministry wants to be involved in the marketplace as the whole Church of Christ and in the power of the Holy Spirit, through its working members as well as through spiritual workers to emphasise and to live the Gospel’s virtues and values in such a way that the Kingdom of Christ may be clearly established and built up in and around the world of work.
OUR AIMS
- To support Christians in the market place to work faithfully
- To work for the establishing and the maintaining of Christian values and virtues in the working places of people
- To work for a united witness of the Christian Church in the working places of people
- To work for the promotion of justice and reconciliation in the world of work
- To work for the solution of social problems and for the diminishing of poverty and joblessness
OUR METHODS OF WORK
- Conducting spiritual meetings and being available for personal conversations
- Distributing literature
- Organising business meals, seminars and other meetings
- Addressing the social problems of working people
- Equipping the spiritual workers for their task

- Ons is ‘n diens arm van die Christelike kerke in die werkplekke van mense.
- Ons is aanvanklik gekonstitueer binne die Gereformeerde Kerkfamilie
- Ons is ‘n groeiende ekumeniese bediening
- Ons het ‘n ekumeniese span geestelike werkers en bestuurslede uit verskillende firmas en kerklike tradisies
ONS VISIE
- Arbeidsbediening wil vanuit die hele kerk van Christus deur werkende lidmate en geestelike werkers, in die krag van die Heilige Gees betrokke wees in die markplek,om daar die deugde en waardes van die Evangelie sò te beklemtoon en uit te leef, dat die koninkryk van Christus in en om die arbeidswêreld duidelik gevestig en opgebou sal word.
ONS DOELWITTE
- Om Christengelowiges in die markplek te ondersteun om geloofsgetrou te werk
- Om te werk vir die vestiging en die handhawing van Christelike waardes en deugde in die arbeidslewe
- Om te werk vir ‘n verenigde getuienis van die Christelike kerk in die werkplekke van mense
- Om te werk vir die bevordering van geregtigheid en versoening in die arbeidswêreld
- Om te werk vir die oplossing van sosiale probleme en die vermindering van armoede en werkloosheid.
